My Letter To Christopher Barron, Head of GOProud

Listen, Chris, this may be a little hard for you to understand, but here it is:  uh, Republicans don't like you.  I'm sorry, I know it's hard to hear, but you really do need to come to terms with that.  Remember when you invited Ann Coulter to your Homocon and she used her keynote speaker spot to rail against gay marriage and insult you?

Yeah, Ann doesn't like you.

And you remember how the Family Research Council and a host of other organizations are boycotting CPAC in order to protest your inclusion to the event?  Well, now it sounds like you won't even be allowed to come next year:

Al doesn't like you either.

"As Frum Forum reports, the new head of the conservative conference's parent organization, American Conservative Union chairman Al Cardenas, now says that 'it's going to be difficult to continue the relationship' with the gay conservative group. GOProud has been at odds with social conservative groups who have criticized its participation in CPAC, some having gone so far as to boycott the convention as a result.

"'I have been disappointed with their website and their quotes in the media, taunting organizations that are respected in our movement and part of our movement, and that's not acceptable," said Cardenas. 'And that puts them in a difficult light in terms of how I view things.'"

See?  In essence, Chris, in order for you to play on their playground you can't defend yourself from bullies or prevent people from calling you names.  You have to go to the back of the bus.

This is why the gay world laughs at you, Chris, and this is why your attempt to include yourself under The Big Tent just doesn't work.  They don't want you there.  I admire your courage in trying to carve a place for yourself amongst these bigots, but I have to say, toadying to their baser values by apologizing for standing for yourself is something no-one respects.

And I suggest, Chris, that you don't love yourself.

"In the run-up to the convention, GOProud chairman Chris Barron called Cleta Mitchell, at the time the chair of the ACU Foundation, 'a nasty bigot' after she pushed conservatives to boycott CPAC.

"Barron has since apologized for that comment: 'For the past six months, we have watched as unfair and untrue attacks have been leveled against our organization, our allies, our friends and sometimes even their families. Everyone has their breaking point and clearly in my interview with Metro Weekly I had reached mine. I shouldn't have used the language that I did to describe Cleta Mitchell and for that I apologize.'"

Why should you apologize?  Don't!  This bitch is a nasty bigot!  She hates you and she hates your friends and she hates the fact that you want to be like her!  So don't.  I know!  You can come hang with us on the left.  We like when people call other people on their shit.  In my post about your gross Tweet bragging about oppressing your fellow gays, I called you a dirtbag bootlicker.  Because you were being one.  Am I going to apologize?  Hell no!  You should just stop being a dirtbag bootlicker!

Hey!  Plus, you're kinda cute, and that goes well with our crowd.  We get to have gay sex without shame or self-loathing!  We get to have our cake and eat it too.  So!  Come play with us.  Our playground lacks bullies, and if you don't like what, say, the HRC is doing and say something about it, sure someone may criticize you.  But many will applaud you.  We'll welcome you with open arms.

And quit with the bootlicking.  Please.  Get a spine and be a man.  Honestly, it's embarrassing.
