No Vote Today On NY Marriage Equality

NY Senate Majority Leader Skelos clarified today that there would be no vote this week on marriage equality, an announcement that has the blogosphere and advocacy world antsy in anticipation of the legalization of same-sex marriage.

He says:

“This has been a very complicated year in terms of the issues that we’ve addressed and I’ve found the governor from the very beginning starting with the budget process has always had an open ear and is flexible in terms of the suggestions I give or the speaker gives."

The legislative session will resume on Monday, and advocates are hopeful that marriage will become available to all New Yorkers next week.
