Sarah Who Again?

Mama Bear is back after a relatively long and (happily) quiet stretch where we didn't have to pretend that Sarah Palin was an actual person with ideas that we should listen to and stuff.

By now we all know that Shah Walker of Wisconsistan has not been unseated and will be renaming the governor's mansion to "Scott's Pleasure Casbah" where he will be executing one civil right a day just because he can.

Sarah is taking this opportunity to get her Bumpit on national television, as she is relating Walker's victory to Barry O's inevitable defeat. Also, something about his goose being cooked. Or something.

As she denounced Obama’s “hopey changey stuff”, the former Alaska governor continued: “More and more Americans realize that what Wisconsin has just manifested via this vote … is the complete opposite of what president Obama and the White House represents today.” 

Palin predicted that the Obama administration will try to downplay Walker’s victory and distance itself from the GOP’s win in Wisconsin.

“Jay Carney — can’t wait to see how he spins all this and ignores it, and President Obama himself,” she said. “They’re going to really try to distance themselves from this despite the fact that they, leading their lapdogs in the leftist media, made this a front page story for how many months? Months and months.”

Mama Bear-- or is it Bulldog with Lipstick?-- is going to cook a goose for some lapdogs. Or something. You heard it here first.

Blockbuster New Sarah Palin Book: Gossip Or Biography?

Joe McGinniss, a controversial American writer and novelist who has written New York Times bestsellers since the age of 26, has long been shadowed by accusations of plagiarism and sensationalism, but is returning yet again to the literary scene this year with a controversial topic: the secret life of Sarah Palin.

McGinniss made headlines during the writing of his tell-all, even going so far as to rent a home next door to the Palins, prompting them to put up a tall fence between the properties.

Now, the book is done, and some publications are hailing it as "explosive," as it details several shocking details about the Palins' private lives:

• Former vice presidential candidate alleged to have snorted cocaine off an oil drum
• Said to have had night of passion with basketball star
• Husband Todd said to have dissolved snowmobile firm after discovering affair with business partner
• Ex-governor of Alaska has yet to announce whether she will run for president next year

I would be more interested in the book if, say, Sarah purchased blow with state money and snorted it off an oil drum during a pipeline grand opening, but this is sure to cause waves within the political community, especially the one surrounding Mama Bear.  Will I read it?  Uh, maybe.  If someone else has a copy I can borrow.

Sarah Palin Shocker: Former Guv Quits Bus Tour Halfway Thru

I can't stop laughing over this.

Sarah Palin once again has failed her fans by quitting her much-maligned and secretive bus tour by quitting midway.  However!  She is still releasing her book Undefeated.

Some speculate that she is merely shifting her strategy away from running for President and instead will endorse Rick Perry and sit back and let the book royalties roll in.

And earlier this week, some of her staunchest supporters grew concerned about gossip suggesting that she had reached out to Texas Gov. Rick Perry about lending her support to his potential presidential run. But two Perry aides told RCP that they were not aware of any recent contact between Palin and the Texas governor.

Either way, her book is clearly a big joke: OF COURSE you're undefeated, Sarah!  You don't stay in the game long enough for anyone to ever defeat you!

Sarah Palin: Will She Or Won't She? And Do We Care?

Sarah Palin thus far has been mum on whether or not she is going to be running for President, with both the politician and her PAC veiled in secrecy so tight they haven't even released the locations of her East Coast bus tour, which started today at the Rolling Thunders bike rally.

The rally, which is a Memorial Day event for veterans living in Arlington, VA staged at the Pentagon, received the former governor with mixed feelings. While fans flocked to her, some attendees stated they wished she had stayed away.

"'I'm very not appreciative of the way she came in here,' Ted Shpak, Rolling Thunder’s national legislative director, said of Palin’s arrival. The former governor came in the front of the Pentagon’s north parking lot, where event staff and press were assembled. 'If she wanted to come on the ride, she should have come in the back.'"

Many complained because they didn't want her to politicize the event, as the organizers are withholding judgment on which candidate, if any, to back.

"While many riders said they were fans of Palin, they still did not want her to bring politics to the ride. 'Don’t come here and try to make a political point out of it,' said Joe Clark of Pennsylvania. 'If she’s just here backing the cause of the entire run, that’s fine. If she’s just trying to get votes, she should just stay out of it.'"

"Mark Posey of Indiana agreed: 'I think she has no reason to be involved in this,'" he said. 'If she’s launching her campaign to run for president, I don’t think this is the place to start.'"

Not an auspicious start for her tour, which has been a confusing mix of rumors and guesses. Locations and dates haven't been released, and the purpose of the tour is still a mystery. Palin has yet to throw her hat into the crowded ring of Republican candidates, leaving everyone to ask-- is she actually going to run?

Perhaps the better question is: does it matter?

She hasn't done terribly well in the polls since Republican speculation began, regularly falling behind Romney and even Trump. The question being, of course, whether or not she would be a viable candidate to run against the popular incumbent, President Barack Obama.

Former presidential contender John McCain, even though some speculate he regrets choosing her as a running mate, stated that she is, indeed, a viable candidate against the Democratic President.

"'Can she win the Republican nomination and can she beat Barack Obama?' Fox News' Chris Wallace asked McCain Sunday.

"'Of course she can -- she can," McCain insisted. 'Now whether she will or not, whether she'll even run or not, I don't know.'

"'A lot of things happen in campaigns, Chris. I was written off a couple of times and was able to come back. It will be a roller coaster ride for all of them before we finally arrive at our nominee. But she certainly is a major factor. And I believe that she can be very competitive,' he added."

We will see.  I have a feeling this whole tour is going to be a circus and a mess.  

Fox News President Thinks Sarah Palin Is An Idiot

According to close sources, Fox News President Roger Ailes appears to be a full-time Palin hater, as reported by New York Magazine.

"Roger is worried about the future of the country. He thinks the election of Obama is a disaster. He thinks Palin is an idiot. He thinks she’s stupid. He helped boost her up. People like Sarah Palin haven’t elevated the conservative movement."

Evidently a lot of Ailes' frustration stems from Palin's handling of the Gifford shooting.  During a time when she might waited to respond to allegations that her gunsight infographic encouraged the shooter to attempt to assassinate political candidates, she instead mouthed off, calling the criticism "blood libel."

Of course, Fox News has now come out in the press saying that Roger just loves Mama Bear:

"'I know for a fact that Roger Ailes admires and respects Sarah Palin and thinks she is smart,' Fox News Channel executive vice president of programming Bill Shine told the New York Times. 'He also believes many members of the left-wing media are extremely terrified and threatened by her.'"

If by terrified and threatened he means "scared she's going to tell her fans to kill us," maybe this isn't the load of malarkey that I thought it was.

Also, I think it's probably a death knell for someone's political career when Fox News execs have to give interviews saying "Oh no!  I swear I don't think she's dumb.  She's really smart!  Really!  I really think that!"

Mama Bear Better Stay Out of Australia

While I'm not a fan of Julian Assange, I despise Sarah Palin even more.  So I got a warm fuzzy over this statement from Robert Stary, Assange's lawyer:


"On her Facebook page, Palin suggests that Assange should be 'pursued with the same urgency as al-Qaida and Taliban leaders.'

 I suggest you leave your gun at home for this one, Sarah.

"Anyone who incites others to commit violence against his client, even outside Australia, Stary says, is violating Australian law, and can be held accountable for it.

"'Certainly if Sarah Palin or any of those other politicians come to Australia, for whatever purpose, then we can initiate a private prosecution, and that's what we intend to do,' Stary said."

Thank goodness SOMEONE knows the difference between freedom of speech and potentially damaging hate-mongering.

February: Let's Ignore the Douchetards

Dana Milbank, a columnist featured in the Washington Post, is troubled that he writes so much about Sarah Palin:

"The media obsession with Palin began naturally and innocently enough, when the Alaska governor emerged as an electrifying presence on the Republican presidential ticket more than two years ago. But then something unhealthy happened: Though Palin was no longer a candidate, or even a public official, we in the press discovered that the mere mention of her name could vault our stories onto the most-viewed list. Palin, feeding this co-dependency and indulging the news business's endless desire for conflict, tweeted provocative nuggets that would help us keep her in the public eye -- so much so that this former vice presidential candidate gets far more coverage than the actual vice president."

His solution?  Declare February a Palin-free month.  He won't write about her for the entire month.

February:  The month Sarah leaves us alone and gets a real job.

I agree with him.  Do you think that wacko would have published the gross graphic targeting congresspeople if we hadn't given her the platform to do so?

It brings to mind a lot of other hateful people who wouldn't have any staying power or ability to harm if we just didn't talk about them.  For instance: Westboro Baptist Church, otherwise known as the "God Hates Fags" people.  When these nutjobs threatened to picket the funerals of the Tucson shooting victims, several of you asked me to write about it.  I won't.  I refuse to give my blog to assholes as a way of promoting their image.

So I'm going to join Milbank.  Let's stop giving Sarah publicity-- and thus money-- because she honestly doesn't deserve it.

Bristol Palin Puts the Smack Down on Mom: Real or Fake?

If this is real, it's terribly fun:

What do you think, fake account?  Or has Bristol had enough?  Strangely, what makes me think that it's fake is that Bristol calls her "mom."  I just can't see this woman being called "mom."  She probably makes her kids call her "President-Elect Queen Palin."

Moreover, there was 'nothing irresponsible' about the image, and to draw a line connecting Palin and Saturday's shooting is 'obscene' and 'appalling.'"

What's obscene is your dedication to lying to the American people.  What shitbags.  Do they really think that we-- and the gun nuts they pander to-- believe this line of crap?

Those aren't cross-hairs!  They are happy bunny pictures.  Thank GAWD Americans are dumb!
